About Diabetes Ambassadors
Who We Are
The Diabetes Health Ambassador Initiative was started at the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy with the help of the Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation of NJ. The Diabetes Ambassador course is designed to empower students to initiate their own projects to educate their communities and to help curb the diabetes epidemic. Students from this course initiated the first annual “Diabetes Day” in New Brunswick, NJ and continued their project by creating a toolkit that could be used to inspire other students to start their own community outreach events. Each year, the Diabetes Ambassador course teaches and trains more ambassadors to connect with their communities through different outreach events and their annual health fair.
